Get Ahead of the Season

— Chad Wilson, Ag Service Center

As we head into spring, preparation matters more than ever. Whether you’ve worked with our Ag Service Center before or this is your first season hearing about it, now is the time to plan for your equipment, grain handling, and maintenance needs.

For those new to the Ag Service Center, it’s Central United Cooperative’s full-service equipment, parts, grain handling, and repair facility located in Lafayette. We serve agricultural, construction, and lawn and garden customers with access to new and used equipment, a well-stocked parts department, and factory-trained, certified technicians. Our team handles routine maintenance, major repairs, tire service, DOT inspections, precision technology support, and complete grain system projects.

Here’s how we can help this spring.

Equipment:

Line It Up Early
If you’re considering upgrading or adding equipment, now is the time to start the conversation. We have access to top brands and can source skid loaders, mowers, tillage tools, rollers, balers, and more. Even if it’s not on our lot, we can typically have it within a few days. The earlier you reach out, the better chance you have of it being ready when you are.

Grain Handling:

Don’t Wait for a Breakdown
We’re off to a strong start on 2026 grain handling projects, and while the schedule is filling in, we still have room for additional projects. Last fall brought strong yields across the region, and many systems handled increased bushels. That kind of volume adds wear to bins, legs, augers, dryers, and handling equipment.

Now is the time to address repairs, upgrades, maintenance, or even plan for additional storage before harvest approaches. The sooner you contact us, the sooner we can secure your spot on the schedule. You don’t need to be located near Lafayette to do business with us. Our team is willing to travel to meet your needs.

Dryer service begins in spring and continues through summer. If you have major repairs or would like a check-up in early May, reach out now to get on the list. Call 507-228-8224 to schedule.

We’re currently offering special savings on Firestone and Bridgestone radial and farm tires through April 30. Reach out to find the right fit for your equipment and your budget

Tire brands we carry: Firestone, Bridgestone, Goodyear, Titan, Michelin, BKT, Mitas, Alliance, and Carlisle.

Precision Planting:

Start with Accuracy
Planting performance begins well before the planter enters the field. A thorough pre-season inspection helps identify wear, make adjustments, and catch small issues before they affect yield. Meter calibration ensures accurate seed placement and consistent population. Small corrections now can prevent larger problems later.

If you’re using Ag Leader technology, our team can assist with setup, upgrades, troubleshooting and more to ensure your system is operating properly.

On April 3, we hosted a Planter Maintenance Clinic. Jason Portner from Precision Planting, along with our in-house expert Dan Hayes, covered updates, meter calibration, planter maintenance, and more to help ensure planters were ready for the field.

Parts

Our parts counter supports you throughout the season. We stock a wide range of parts to keep your equipment running, and if we don’t have what you need in stock, we can typically order it quickly. Planning ahead for common wear items helps reduce downtime when workloads increase.
