Fuel Update
Right now, premium diesel is at a three-year low which is great news for those still needing to fill up. Looking ahead 2025 fuel contracts are priced lower than last year, but still slightly above today’s spot price. This is the first time in a couple of years that contracted prices aren’t inverted from daily prices, which gives you more clarity as you plan ahead.
A quick note on biodiesel: with fewer subsidies in play, B20 is currently running about 25 cents higher per gallon heading into spring and summer.
Fuel Blending Tip
With the deep freeze we’ve had lately, it’s a good time to review proper cold weather blending. To successfully blend #1 with #2 diesel, the temperature must be at least 10° above the cloud point of the #2 fuel. Since our #2 diesel contains 5% biodiesel (B5), you’ll need it to be about 28°F or warmer to blend effectively. For best results (and fewer headaches), we recommend doing your winter blend early in the season when prices are usually better and your fuel is ready when the cold hits.

We’re adding some great talent to our energy sales team ! Jeff Zarn has joined the team and is based out of Sleepy Eye. Brandon Mehlhop is also coming on board and will be working from our Gaylord location. Both bring solid experience and a customer-first mindset. You’ll see them out and about soon.
